Gdy MCL powstało w 2014 roku składało się z samego HTML i skryptów CGI, nie używało technologii Cascading Style Sheets ani JS.
Pod koniec 2015 roku witryna została stworzona od początku w oparciu o WordPress. Pozostało tak aż do zamknięciu serwisu w 2019 roku.
Gdy w 2020 roku postanowiłem przywrócić serwis, napisałem go od początku w samym HTMLu, stronę główną z początku 2020 roku można zobaczyć na zdjęciu obok.
Z czasem nauczyłem się CSS i próbowałem coraz bardziej upiększać strony na witrynie. Większość osóba zgodzi się, że witryna wygląda dzisiaj lepiej niż wyglądała 2 lata temu,
ale cały czas wygląda dość prymitiwne.
W dzisiejszych czasach mało kto pisze samemu od zera HTML i CSS, ludzi odchodzą nawet od WordPressa, teraz normą z reguły jest używanie
tzw. struktur* CSS lub JavaScript, takich jak Bootstrap czy Foundation do
CSS, lub jQuery, Angular, React czy Google Web Toolkit do JavaScript.
I choć użycie struktury/frameworku do arkuszów stylowych nie powinno być dla mnie, ani dla użytkowników dużym problemem, to użycie struktury/frameworku JavaScript na pewno utrudniłoby wielu osobom dostęp do stron na tej witrynie.
Strony używające tego typu bibliotek używają z reguły skryptu JS do renderowania strony, więc jeśli ktoś używa przeglądarki WWW, która nie wspiera technologii JavaScript lub ma ograniczone wsparcie, strona zapewne w ogóle
się nie załaduje.
Co jednak Wy o tym myślicie? Czy witryna wygląda dobrze w obecnym stanie? Czy powinienem napisać nowy stylesheet? Czy powinienem napisać strony od początku w oparciu o bibliotekę JS/CSS?
Mogą państwo pisać w księdze gości lub na temp1 [at] mcl.cal24.pl (zastąpić [at] znakiem @)

When MCL was created back in 2014, it consisted of HTML and CGI scripts, the site didn't use stylesheets or any JavaScript.
In late 2015, the site was remade using WordPress and stayed that way until it shut down in 2019.
When I made the decision to reinstate the site in 2020, I rewrote everything in plain HTML, you can see what the main page looked like in the first quarter of 2020 on the embeded photo.
Over time, I starting to learn CSS and made numerous stylesheets for this site to make it look better. The Web site has undergone multiple redesigns, as documented by older news entries. I think most people
would agree that the site looks better now than two years ago, but it still looks somewhat outdated.
These days, virtually nobody writes HTML and CSS from scratch, even WordPress is fading into obscurity. The most common way to create a Web site nowadays is to use a CSS or JavaScript framework like
Bootstrap or Foundation for CSS, and jQuery, Angular, React, or the Google Web Toolkit
for JavaScript.
And while integrating a stylesheet library shouldn't be too much of an issue for me or MCL readers, switching to JS for rendering text would likely impact many people who use this Web site in a very negative way.
It would mainly impact those who use WWW browsers w/out JavaScript support, or with limited JavaScript support. A page that uses JavaScript for rendering wouldn't even load text on such browsers.
I would like to know what you this of this. Does the site look good as it is? Should I write a new stylesheet? Should I rewrite the site using a JS/CSS library?
